The Boy Scout movement spread to Japan in 1913 and the Federation of Boy Scouts of Japan was formed in 1922. Due to the war, the Federation was dissolved but scouting continued to be an important pastime. After the war in 1946 the National Association of the Boy Scouts of Nippon was established and today still exists to be part of many boys and girls lives in Japan. The patches shown on this uniform include a number 3 troop insignia, a community strip, a Japanese flag, an international Scout symbol, a Japanese interpreter’s strip, and a National Boy Scout Jamboree patch. |
