Indigo bunting

Description: This small bird fits into the finch family. The male of the species is a deep blue all over, and the female has brown mixed with the blue. During autumn the male becomes somewhat brown. This little bird can be found in most states of the U.S. and up into Canada. They can be found in the brushy and weedy areas along edges of farmland and woods, as well as along roads or railroads.
