By the 1944 Presidential election, Franklin D. Roosevelt had been President of the United States for eleven years! Now running with the little known Senator Harry S. Truman, Roosevelt and Truman struggled to lead the country during World War II. Metal and plastics were needed for the war movement, so few could be used for campaign advertisements. Roosevelt’s presidency and life would end scarcely a year later when he died of a stroke. |
