Rosanna Bloomsgrove doll

Description: Eliza Whiting received this Queen Anne-style wooden doll from London around 1790. Passed down with her history from generation to generation, each owner recorded bits of information on how the doll figured in her own life, from party invitations sent and received to new dresses made and comfort given during spells of sickness. The doll remained on the East Coast in Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Connecticut until it came to The Childrens Museum of Indianapolis in 1982.
