Mr. Andersen sends his thanks to the Sewalls for their hospitality on his visit to their home in Indianapolis. He was also honored to be invited to speak to the (Contemporary?) Club.Andersen was the captain of the Viking, a replica of a Viking ship, which he sailed from Bremen to Newfoundland, New York, and then Chicago to prove to the Columbian Exposition that Leif Erikson had sailed to the New World before Columbus. |
