Description: This is a digitized recording of a dictabelt, which the Indianapolis Fire Department used to record dispatch calls during the 1960s and 1970s. Following are the calls on this dictabelt: 1) Person needing first aid at 5365 Norwaldo Ave. 2) Fire reported near Conrad and Morton St., call unclear. 3) Ambulance needed for a person drank fuel oil at 2832 N Emerson. 4) Grass fire at 300 S Senate near the railroad tracks. 5) Report on fire rescue run to a Brad Taylor, 5365 Norwaldo, cut right hand. Fire rescue personnel bandaged it, and he will recover at home. 6) Report of a car fallen on a man at 317 S Woodrow. 7) Attack reported at 5425 Greenfield Ave. 8) Medical emergency at 18th and Colorado. 9) Medical emergency at 621 E New York. 10) Fire burning along a wall at Lafayette Square Mall. 11) Mrs. Hamilton 4218 Guilford Ave. asks how she can get help with a storm window coming loose at her home. 12) Sick man at 512 W 40th. 13) Large grass fire in a field at the 200 block of West Minnesota. 14) Near tracks by Arlington and 38th Street, a telephone pole reported on fire. 15) Trash reported at corner of Murray and Harland. 16) ABC trucking on Virginia Ave. called to report a grass fire in the 200 block of Virginia. 17) Fire rescue requested at 6104 Burlington Ave to assist an injured child.
