This is a digitized recording of a dictabelt, which the Indianapolis Fire Department used to record dispatch calls during the 1960s and 1970s. Following are the calls on this dictabelt: 1) Caller asks about legality of trash burning. 2) Fire on Michigan St., north of [inaudible]. 3) Smoke at Colerain and Kessler, near Winfield, behind the Airway West. Caller was not sure if a fire had started in the woods but saw a great deal of smoke. 4) Extended discussion about location of Colerain and Kessler, dispatcher is not sure where Colerain is or if he heard the street name correctly. 5) Caller wants to know if he can burn his leaves. 6) [several calls unintelligible]. Recording ends at 2:45 PM. |
