Description: This is a digitized recording of a dictabelt, which the Indianapolis Fire Department used to record dispatch calls during the 1960s and 1970s. Following are the calls on this dictabelt:1. Woman calls with question about fireplace safety. 2. 1220 North Ollney, oven on fire. 3. Woman calling to report and complain about illegal trash fire at 3141 Normandy Road. 4. 3142 Graceland, choking victim reported. 5. Fire reported at Brookside Park, tree on fire near swimming pool. 6. At 1008 Harrison, woman unconscious at side entrance, inhalator dispatched. 7. Caller at 11 North Jefferson Street, currently renovating a property at this address, asking about trash burning bylaws in Indianapolis. 8. At 1728 East 72nd Street, junk car on fire behind garage. 9. At 4915 Kenwood, several people are ill and need and ambulance. 10. Firefighter calling to ask if Lafayette Square was in the IFD coverage area.
