This is a digitized recording of a dictabelt, which the Indianapolis Fire Department used to record dispatch calls during the 1960s and 1970s. Following are the calls on this dictabelt: 1. Man reporting he’s found oxygen equipment left by firefighters. He agrees to leave it at the Big Seven Bar on Meridian Street South of McCarty for them to pick up. 2. Cooper calls Chief Finley to retrieve equipment. 3. Rescue squad at 731 East McCarty for nose bleed. 4. Apparatus to 3640 Breen Drive for unidentified smoke marks in a woman’s kitchen; thinks it could be wiring. 6. District Chief Finley reports inability to find Big Seven Bar, checked out B & M bar but was afraid to go in. 7. Conversation with Nick Mickles about the missing oxygen equipment. 8. Chief Finley conversation with Cooper confirming lost oxygen masks. 9. Automobile fire 2000 Shelby. 10. Police dispatch is called to retrieve oxygen mask. 11. Woman fell at 440 W. 26th 12.
