Description: This is a digitized recording of a dictabelt, which the Indianapolis Fire Department used to record dispatch calls during the 1960s and 1970s. Following are the calls on this dictabelt: 1. Fire at 3836 N. Alamain 2. House fire 665 Birch Avenue. 3. Ambulance at 874 Udell for sick man. 4. Blackhawk Tavern at 23rd and College, man has fallen and needs ambulance. 5. Cut hand at 709 N. Muskingum 6. 4006 East 34th Woman having trouble breathing. 7. Call to American Red Cross about children involved in the 665 Birch fire. 8. Engine 33 and ambulance to 2802 Lafayette Road for woman with heart problems. 9. Man calling from Big Seven bar about found oxygen equipment. 10. 731 East McCarty for nose bleed. 11. 4. Apparatus to 3640 Breen Drive for unidentified smoke marks in a woman’s kitchen; thinks it could be wiring.
