The photograph in the lower right is labeled Over in the Arsenal and shows a woman and three girls dressed in winter coats and hats standing outside with two dogs. One of the girls has her hands in a fur muff. The Stanfield collection offers a rare glimpse into the lives of an upper-middle-class family living in Indianapoliss Woodruff Place. With the invention of the lightweight and inexpensive Kodak camera in 1888, the means to create photographs was placed in the hands of ordinary people, and they began to document their lives and stories.
