Monon Railroad Timetable September 28, 1947

Description: This railroad timetable represents a Hoosier treasure, the Monon, so named because its lines intersected near Monon Creek in Bradford, Indiana. Founded as the New Albany and Salem Railroad, the Monon became an independent line in 1946 after several mergers and reorganizations. Its successor removed the Monons last rails in 1985. With their Rails-to-Trails program, Indiana volunteers have created a statewide program to preserve the Monons trails and their ties to history, community identity, and nature.
