Group portrait of Company H of the 11th Infantry at Fort Benjamin Harrison in October 1927. Soldiers pose with cook in the middle wearing his cooks uniform. Fort Harrison was established as a training center for the Indiana National Guard in June of 1904 in Lawrence Township, Marion County. During World War I, it became one of the largest Army training and mobilization sites in the country, hosting three large officer training camps. |
