Description: Group portrait of attendees of the Fifth Annual National Convention of the National Beauty Culturists and Benevolent Association of Mme C.J. Walker Agents, held in Boston in August, 1921. These agents worked for entrepreneur and philanthropist Madam C.J. Walker selling her personal line of beauty products and instructing customers on hygiene and appearance. This organization was formed in 1916 and later changed its name to the Madam C.J Walker Hair Culturists Union of America.
