Description: |
Terre Haute is the seat of justice for Vigo County. The city originated in 1816 on a plateau along the Wabash River. By the early 1920s the city's population expanded along with its industry and business. This view shows a bustling Terre Haute during the 1920s. The original nitrate negative was copied with funds provided by a grant from the National Historical Publications and Records Commission in 1990. This digital image was created from that copy. The copy prints and negatives are stored in Microfiche Number order. Interpositives are stored in PAN number order. |
