Provisional Company E, Illinois National Guard, Army Service School, Fort Benjamin Harrison, July 18-23, 1910

Description: Fort Benjamin Harrison was established as a training center for the Indiana National Guard in June of 1904 in Lawrence Township, Marion County. In 1910 an officers training school was held at the fort for National Guardsmen from Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Kentucky, and Illinois. Under the direction of Major James A. Frier the officers were instructed in field work and army tactics. Two sessions were held that summer, Company E from the Illinois National Guard in this view attended the second training session in July.
The original nitrate negative was copied with funds provided by a grant from the National Historical Publications and Records Commission in 1990. This digital image was created from that copy. The copy prints and negatives are stored in Microfiche Number order. Interpositives are stored in PAN number order.
