Officers First Brigade, Kentucky National Guard, July 20, 1910, Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indiana

Description:	Fort Benjamin Harrison was established in June of 1904 in Lawrence Township of Marion County. During the summer of 1910 Fort Harrison was the site of a major training operation of National Guard officers from Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky, and Illinois. Major James A. Frier of the 10th Infantry garrisoned at the post was in charge of the camp. The school was an experiment designed to bring the militias up to the highest standards along with the regular army on field work and army tactics. This group from Kentucky was among the 230 National Guard officers participating in the second camp school that arrived at the fort on July 17, 1910. The original nitrate negative was copied with funds provided by a grant from the National Historical Publications and Records Commission in 1990. This digital image was created from that copy. The copy prints and negatives are stored in Microfiche Number order. The Interpositives are stored in PAN number order.
