Built as a steel town, Gary, Indiana was founded in 1906 and named for Elbert H. Gary, principal founder of U.S. Steel. June 1931 marked the towns 25th anniversary. Gary City Hall, on the left, and Lake County Courthouse, on the right, are decorated with bunting and viewing stands have been erected for a parade. |
