On October 13, 1910 President Theodore Roosevelt spoke to a crowd from the balcony of the English Hotel. He was here to support U.S. Senator Albert Beveridge in his advocacy of a tariff commission. Thousands of Hoosiers filled the Circle to see and hear the president. The northeast quadrant of the Circle is shown - Christ Church Cathedral, the Columbia Club, the Indianapolis Water Building, and the Fidelity Bank and Trust Building.
