Daguerreotype of James. S. Davy and Friend in Uniform

Description: This daguerreotype photograph of James S. Davy and a friend in their uniforms dates from the early 1860s. Davy served in the 47th Indiana Infantry Volunteers, Company C, from 1861-1865. During his time in the Civil War, he kept detailed journals of his daily life.
These Civil War materials have been loaned for digitization to the Indiana Historical Society.
