Elizabeth Elementary School Register 1946-1947, grade 1, teacher Violet Rooksby

Description:	An elementary school register from Elizabeth Grade School in Elizabeth, Indiana, during the 1946-1947 school term. Teacher Violet Rooksby used the register to record the daily attendance of her first grade students. The book includes the names of each student, their date of birth, township residence, and the name of a parent or guardian. End of term attendance records and final grades are provided. Violet Rooksby (1904-1953) was a native of Boone Township, Harrison County, Indiana, and was a teacher for twenty-two years. During the 1946-1947 school term, which this register covers, Ms. Rooksby married, and thus her end-of-term reports are signed Violet Rooksby Gassert.
