A Justice of the Peace court docket for Blue River Township, Harrison County, Indiana that contains records of approximately 30 court cases that took place during the first half of the twentieth century. These cases date between 1902 and 1951, with most of them taking place before 1922. There are many years for which no cases were recorded, and a large gap occurs between 1922-1935, with only one case recorded during this period. Cases in the mid-1940s mostly revolve around hunting and fishing laws and licenses. John H. Feiock was the justice of the peace for most of the cases recorded in the book, and R. L. Howerton served as justice for cases that took place after 1945. One case was heard before William G. Drake in 1933. This docket has preprinted forms that were used to record the cases. The court cases reflect the daily lives and conflicts of residents during the period and include charges of provocation, assault and battery, robbery, fraud, and cruelty to animals.
