Lets Not Forget (By Ora Nave) Lest we forget, lets bear in mind What Christmas, to us, used to mean, And not appear to be unkind, Because we have our young days seen. Lets not forget how long it seemed, Between one Christmas and another, When we were young and for them planned, And each one daily asked his mother. Lets not forget, our eyes once shined, When trinkets were displayed, And what trinkets were displayed, And what a thrill it was to find The mantel or a tree arrayed. Lest we forget, though we are sad And feel that Christmas is a bore, That Christmas time once made us glad, And to forget that we were poor. lets not forget, that little minds Grasp little we commemorate: Confused, perhaps, by sects, and kinds Of creeds that would their ways dictate. Lest we forget, in our discord, The love that he for children had, Upon the birthday of our Lord, Lets all agree, and make them glad. Particularly those who must depend on the Courier and Journal Christmas party.
