Karl Kae Knecht Cartoon

Description: Top: An airplane, cars, and trucks sit parked and covered with snow; they are not in use because of the weather. A train passes by on a track; railroads are in operation despite the snow. Center: Two men shovel snow off of a car; they throw the snow onto a third mans car. A text box warns readers to be careful not to bury other peoples cars when the dig their own out. Bottom: A man shoveling snow off of a sidewalk piles the snow in front of a parked car; a man in the car points to the pile of snow. Captions tell readers to throw shoveled snow in yards or to make neat piles on sidewalks.

While much transportation is snarled, the old railroads go on! When you dig yourself out at curb--do not bank snow so as to handicap others. Well! Throw it in yards. Clean step-downs. In cleaning snow off walks--do not throw in gutter or street. Throw on yard or stack on part of sidewalk. [in margins: Snow--Snow! Go Away!--Come Again--Another Day!]
