Dade traffic jams highway. Heavy holiday traffic and 14,000 horse race fans at Dade Park yesterday proved to be too great a burden for Highway 414 to handle. About 8 p.m. cars were reported backed up three miles into Kentucky form the Evansville-Henderson bridge over the Ohio river. the last of Dade Parks fans were leaving the track about 8:30 p.m. Indiana state police officers helped get traffic untangled at the. Little wonder: when in parking last arrivals are allowed to park any-which-way so as to block drive or back-out driveways. Dade Park is just an example of most such as is Bosse field. etc. etc. underpass at track. underpass at race track. race track horses coliseum grand stand. farm machinery displays tents. Note uniform regulated parking outside on 42nd St. Note above for comparison: a photo of perfect parking rows at Indiana state fair on Labor Day. Easy to get out front or rear. With only 214 acres for all buildings, over 130,000 people Monday, midway, concessions etc., they are taxed for parking space within - so (like county fairs) they use the infield or race track - besides the area at lower left, streets and a 24 acre area 4 blocks north.
