Karl Kae Knecht Cartoon

Description: The Week for May 23, 1954. Portrait of Dr. Paul Crimm, who is retiring as president of Boehne Hospital, and a drawing of the Rotary International Hall of Fame trophy (Crimm also received the Rotary Clubs annual civic award). There will be a test of the air raid alert sometime today. Horse show sponsored by the Elberfeld American Legion; a woman rides a prancing horse. Viennese Ball this evening at the Armory. A man in a coat with tails dances with a woman in a ball gown. Rabbit and cavy show; a rabbit warns a cavy (guinea pig) not to make any noise tonight, presumably because the show is being held in the same building as the Viennese Ball. The Central Lions Civic Club is giving out American flags in preparation for Memorial Day, Flag Day, and Fourth of July. Community Players put on Remains to Be Seen; a man bends over to look at the top of a casket covered with flowers. Central Centennial carnival and dance ends tonight.
