Karl Kae Knecht Cartoon

Description: A boy, a girl, and a man in a baseball uniform stand in front of a poster advertising a girls baseball game taking place at Bosse Field. The baseball player tells the children that the female players play in a regular league and are making a stop in Evansville as they travel home from winter training in the South. The girl says that the players have male professional players as trainers, as well as a chaperone. A man standing to the side recalls an 1898 poster for the Bloomer Girls womens baseball team. Knechts elephant recalls that some people believed the pitchers and catchers for the Bloomer Girls were really men.
