Description:	Cartoon for Thanksgiving Day, 1945. Uncle Sam and a family stand at a window looking out at lands still beset with strife and devastated countries facing hard winter, a landscape of rubble, ruined buildings, and clouds of smoke. The family is made up of two adult young men, a girl, a boy, and an older man and woman who are presumably the parents of the other four. One young man is wearing an army uniform, while the other is dressed as a sailor. A service banner on the window indicates three members of the household served in the war and that one died.
