Description: |
Top left: a dove All-out Peace hovers above the earth, 10 years after the start of World War II. Top right: Public and a man behind a counter discuss the fact that non-operating railroad employees will now be working five days per week instead of six. The man tells Public that they will no longer be open on Saturdays. Bottom: The House (a woman wearing a dress and a hat) stands on the front porch of a house, holding suitcases labeled 3 weeks vacation. She tells The Senate, a woman inside the house who is adjusting her hat in a mirror, to hurry up and finish her housework. Items in the foyer where Senate is fixing her hat are labeled with the names of bills passed by the House but not the Senate. Inside a living room visible in the background are items which are already clean--passed by both houses of Congress. President Truman sits on a sofa and suggests other rooms that need to be cleaned.
