Description: |
Cartoon depicting Traffic Menaces such as: old decrepit autos which have trouble climbing hills, drivers who straddle the center line and force other cars to the side of the road, drivers who speed, pass on curves, and abuse their horns. The bottom right corner depicts a state police officer ordering an old car to pull over until a line of faster cars passes; text questions why these offenses cant be policed when speed, weight limits, etc., are regulated. Image Access WideTEK 25 Traffic menaces. The old decrepit autos. So obsolete and in such poor repair they can barely climb an ordinary hill...so often inducing a nut driver to try to pass. Wheeze. Forced off by center lane straddler. Move back on your own side--you--. Those who cross yellow lines on grades. Those who make playthings of autos. Hi Grandpa. Pop pop putt bang. The 15 miles per hour snail-pace drivers who create long lines of cars behind them. Spooners or grouchy oldsters. You pull off--out of line, until this line passes!--then go on. Honk onk. Wow eek whop. The speeder or wanting to pass on curve or grade and user of added shriek horns. If its legal to regulate speed--stop-n-go--right-wrong side--weight etc., etc. why not then crack down hard on such as these who cause accidents. It isnt always age of autos but their shape and condition. [in margins: Monday October 17. The Pile Em on Using Auto as Plaything. 27th (illegible) Annual (illegible) Club McCurdy Ball.
