Karl Kae Knecht Cartoon

Description: Hitler and Gestapo (Goring) tell a group of German civilians that they have to fight. Hitler hands all men 16 to 60 a pitchfork, club, knife, and stone and tells them that they are now allies of the army. Gestapo tells an older woman and a young girl that they must fight too, and that if they wear Nazi armbands the Allies will treat them nicely when they are taken prisoner. Knechts elephant is surrounded by newspapers with headlines about Allied victories.
