Karl Kae Knecht Cartoon

Description: A clipping from the August 15, 1917, issue of The Evansville Courier takes up most of the cartoon. Knechts cartoon from 1917 shows a crowd of people gathered around a soldier at a county fair. A man in a hat which says Am. Legion, VFW, etc. says that he was the soldier in the cartoon, and that now his son is doing the same. The elephant comments that it was 25 years ago that the first soldiers drafted in World War I left for camp.
