[in margin: Around Town. Levee. Courier. 3 columns. 4/30 for 5/1/40.] Several readers suggest: That in the plans for the Plaza levee that a closed wall be built around and on top of the present balustrade wall. It could be supported by construction rising from present little used wharf--which in form of step-seats would be an amphitheater for river sports. River. New foundations. Present foundations. New wall. Present balustrade. Sidewalk. Pavement of Plaza. Those empty lots that spread way over the sidewalks. A good Clean-up Week topic. Do those who deject such as these two walk around in blinders? Would the city or the property owners be liable if someone falls and injures themselves on such unsafe sidewalks as to be found in various parts of the city.
