First time since Civil War. Democracy. Pennsylvania. That poll Overwhelming for Landon. Roosevelt. Lit Die Jest. Straw votes! Prominent figures who give bunk statements, emphatic prophecies, etc. There is a story that when elephants, in Africa, are sick and about to die--they go off to a far away mountain, a retreat unknown to man. Mount Vermont. Mount Maine. Democratic Celebrations. Okay Brother! But dont take it too seriously--as a purely personal victory, for it was just too tremendous for any one party. I think it shows, we are getting independent of professional politicians. Regular business. Mister Public.
