Image Access WideTEK 25 In the Oatsville, Pike County Ind., Oil Field the pumping stations have an original device to tell those interested - (and all others who hear) that pumps are working - it is a 3X10 inch pipe so placed that the exhaust, from the gas engine, blows a whope-whope-whope sound. W.W. Martin who submitted this said - Even the foxes would get scared if the whopes stopped. This on Otis Clems place Yes - right in Evansville an old gas burner street light (not in use) at second and Walnut St. Also in front of Bernardin Apmts. 2 blocks from Main - One from City Hall. Doc Wheeler of Tell City - Ind., says that tombstone and post marks of Nov. 31 - (in this space recently) is not so rare when you look at his 1937 calendar (above) from the citizens bank of Tell City which has 31 days printed on it. Maybe an extra day floated in with the flood - says Doc. 31 pecan nuts in one cluster grown by W.H. Protsman Troy Ind. from L. Schergens - Tell City - Ind. 3 to a cluster is usual. This knife was found by Tom Medcalf Dale Ind. He found it on hill 240 near Verdun France. Name carved on handle. - And by the way - See those two autos, (from photo) jammed bumper to bumper, thats fine parking. |
