Geo Schneider of Newburg sent this nut. It was from a tree on the farm of Geo Ross, 2 miles south of Boonville, Ind. The tree has the bark of Black Hickory, and leaves of a pecan. The husk of the nut is like a paper shell pecan - the nut looks more hickory than pecan. Inside the meat is separated like the pecan but of rough texture and tastes like a hickory nut.
