Description: Interview with Muhamed Selimovic taking place on the Ball State campus as part of the Virginia B. Ball Center Seminar Muslims in Muncie. Topics include: Selimovics family and growing up in Kamenica, Bosnia; his impressions of America as a child; his education history; the Bosnian War; why he stayed in Kamenica when the war started; moving to Muncie in 2001; the September 11th terrorist attacks; working for Asons and starting his own construction company, HD Construction; connecting with the Muslim community in Muncie; the diversity of the Muslim community in Muncie; his personal practice of Islam; challenges he faced when moving to Muncie from Bosnia; facing discrimination; and his personal identity.
