Description: Interview with Richard Mac McKinney taking place on the Ball State campus as part of the Virginia B. Ball Center Seminar Muslims in Muncie. Topics include: McKinneys early life in Cincinnati; the religious and cultural environment he grew up in; joining the Marine Corps, switching to the Army; moving to Muncie; when he was wounded in Ramadi, Iraq in 2006; his family; when he became aware of the Muslim community in Muncie; becoming a Muslim; the diversity of the Muslim community in Muncie; how McKinneys perception of events in the Middle East have changed after converting to Islam; the 2016 United States Presidential election; his sense of identity; and his hopes for the future.
