Description: Located in the Batson Cemetery in Liberty Township, Henry County, Indiana.; Volney Hobson was born on April 9, 1828. Served as a Captain in the 9th Indiana Cavalry Regiment, Company E. Killed in action on December 17, 1864 at Franklin, Tennessee, at the Railroad Bridge on Liberty Pike.
