The Washington Township Public Library was opened October 20, 1920. Rev. Harold gave the address of the evening. Afterwards a musical program was given. This bound volume is the Condensed Accession Book; the official record of each volume added to to the library. Instructions in this bound volume include how to document each book that was added to the librarys collection and library abbreviations. The first entry was dated on September 13, 1920 and was Myths every child should know by Mabie Hamilton. From September 20, 1920 - June 1, 1924, the new library added 5,125 books for the community to use. |
