Washington Township Library Board Minutes - 1920 - 1945

Description:	This bound volume contain the Secretary Book of Washington Township Public Library. Includes are the By-Law for Washington Township Public Library and the original request to have a library in Washington Township. State of Indiana, Hendricks County: SS: In the Matter of the Washington Township PUBLIC LIBRARY. Comes now Byron Cox, Trustee of Washington Township, Hendricks County, and presents and files a petition wherein it appears that the Township Advisory Board of Washington Township, Hendricks County, Indiana, desirous of establishing and maintaining a public library open to and for the free use of all inhabitants of said township, did on the 2nd day of September 1919, levy a tax as provided in Section 6660, Burns R.S.1914, and did enter an order establishing such library, now. THEREFORE, I, Zimri E. Dougan, Judge of the Hendricks Circuit Court, pursuant to the provision of section 6661, Burns R.S.1914, do appoint as member of such library Board the following named person, residents of said Washington township, viz: Cora Zimmerman, to serve for a period of two years from this date; Hazel McClain, to serve for a period of four years from this date. Al of which is done this the 9th day of December A.D.1919. Zimri E. Dougan, Judge Hendricks Circuit Court.
