Description: Robert Eugene Goodnight, June Price, James D. Price, unidentified, unidentified at the 1949 Avon High School Junior/Senior trip to Gatlinburg, Tennessee.Robert Eugene Goodnight (May 8, 1931 - May 26, 1996) was born to Harry Goodnight (December 1, 1908 - June 1981) and Ruth (Hess) (1914 - ) Goodnight. Robert had one brother Dave Goodnight. According the 1940 U.S. Census, the family was living in Martinsville, Morgan County, Indiana. Robert married Shirley Evangeline Swift Birkla (September 16, 1920 - June 24, 1990) on December 14, 1957. At the time both Robert and Shirley worked for Eli Lilly. According to Roberts obituary in the Hendricks County Flyer (June 6, 1996), he died in Fort Myers, Florida and had been a general laborer for Eli Lilly for 18 years and was the owner and founder of B&S Kennels in Avon. At the time of his death, survivors included his mother, his brother, Dave Goodnight, stepson, David Birkla and stepdaughter, Peggy Birkla Holland, and three stepgrandchildren. Both Robert and Shirley are buried at Floral Park Cemetery West.June (Rosemeyer) (August 4, 1931 - ) and James D. Price (October 18, 1932 - December 20, 1977) were born to Fred A. Price (1876 - March 3, 1951) and Hazel R. Morris Price (1891 - 1973). June and James siblings include: Robert Morris Price (1912 - 2006), John H. Price (1916 - 2006), Frank Allen Price (1918 - 2006), Mary Catherine Price Parsons (1921 - 2008), William E. Price (1922 - 1998), Glenn R. Price (1925 - 2012), Frederick Paul Price (1928 - 2003), Jesse Marion Price (1929 - 2012), Paul, Margaret, and Irma.June (August 4, 1931 - ) married Walter Bruce Rosemeyer (October 21, 1930 -) on October 22, 1953.According to Find a Grave, James D. Price (October 28, 1932 - December 20, 1977) was shot fatally in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. He was a residential builder in the Avon area and had operated several liquor stores in Indianapolis. He also was an Avon School bus driver. He was survived by son Christopher J., daughters, Tawny K. and Lisa A. of Indianapolis and sisters, Mrs. George Coy of Monticello, Mary Parsons of Danville, Irma Walton and June Rosemeyer, both of Plainfield, Brother Robert, Frank, William, Glenn, all of Indianapolis John of Winterhaven Florida, Jesse of Danville, and Paul of Brownsburg.
