Bowser Pump Co Truckmobile c1956 - View 2

Description: In 2018, histories of the 10 steam railroads serving Allen Co. were researched, uncovering the Bowser Belt Line Railroad, which operated for Bowser Pump Co. The photo, taken circa 1956, shows the train is eastbound just east of Bowser Ave.-extended, 200 ft. east of the alley at the north end of the line. Bowsers track spanned half a mile north from the factory through an alley, connecting with the Penn. RR near Winter St. Rail operations commenced in 1909, with the exact end date unknown. The truck was manufactured by the Four Wheel Drive Automobile Company, post-World War II. It was likely gasoline powered. The gondola freight car was owned by Bowser. The box in it has four hooks for lifting it with a crane.
