The Sheriff is commanded to take Laurent Bazadone if he can be found in your bailiwick and safely keep him and have his body before our court the First Monday of October next to answer to a plea of trespass and damages of $100. The subpoena is dated July 25, 1815 and witnessed by R. Buntin, Clerk. B. V. Beckes executed the subpoena with service and return being $.54. A complaint is filed during the October 1815 term. Louis Longnon complains of Laurent Bazadone in custody on a plea of trespass. The defendant, Laurent Bazadone, in July 1815 at Vincennes went into the gated yard of the plaintiff and shot and killed his domesticated dog valued at $30. He asks for $100 in damages. the complaint is signed by Johnston P. Q. Louis Langnon puts in his place G. W. Johnston. The Sheriff is commanded to summon Francois Longnon and Minard Cardinal to appear before the judges on the First Monday of March next to give evidence on behalf of Louis Longnon on a plea of trespass. A $100 penalty will be applied for nonappearance. The summons was dated February 12, 1816 and witnessed by R. Buntin, Clerk. B. V. Beckes, Sheriff executed the summons with cost to serve being $1.20. A subpoena is issued to the Sheriff to summon Antoine Lefond and Amable Bolona to come before the judges of the Circuit Court the First Monday of March next. They are to appear on behalf of Louis Longnon, plaintiff against Lawrence Bazadone, defendant on a case of trespass. A $100 fee will be applied for nonappearance. The summons is dated February 17, 1816 with Robert Buntin signing as witness. B. V. Beckes states the subpoena was executed on Bolon but he had no time to serve on Lafond. A subpoena is issued for Francois Longnon, Minard Cardinal, Antoine Lafond and Amable Bolon to appear in court the Fourth Monday of May instant to give evidence on behalf of Louis Longnon, plaintiff vs. Laurent Bazadone on a plea of trespass. A $100 penalty for failure to appear will be applied. The subpoena is dated May 11, 1816 and executed May 31, by B. V. Beckes with cost to serve being $1.83. A summons is issued to the Sheriff to bring Francis Longnon and his wife, Minard and Avelin to court to give evidence on behalf of Louis Longnon, plaintiff. A penalty of $100 will be charged for nonappearance. The subpoena was filed September 13, 1816 by R. Buntin, Clerk. B. V. Beckes, Sheriff states the cost to serve the summons was $1.45 1/2. He stated that all were served on except Avelin as he was not found. A court transcript was filed. The sheriff was to bring to court Laurent Bazadone on a plea of trespass with the sum of $100 damages against him for killing a domesticated dog. A copy of the continued court case in which he accused Laurent Bazadone of killing his dog valued at $30. The defendant is charges with an action of trespass and was to appear in the court November 1815 but he did not appear. He again was ordered to appear in December but again he did not appear but he made default and the case was continued to the next rule day in the Clerks Office on the Second Monday of January. The case was continued to the Second Monday in February when the plaintiff by his attorney asked for continuance to the March term 1816. It was then continued to the June term where Laurent Bazadone made his last will and testament in writing. He made Robert Buntin and Henry Dubois the executors of his estate and afterwards he died. The court requests R. Buntin and Henry Dubois to appear before the judges on the First Monday of October next and state why they should not have the case brought against them as executors. The transcript was filed by R. Buntin, Clerk on September 26, 1816. |
