Description: A promissory note dated 31 June 1814 and signed by Jacob Plough is presented. Jacob Plough was to pay Willis C. Osborne on order $80.12 1/2 for value received by September 1, 1814. The note is witnessed by William Hardy and William Banks. A petition by Willis C. Osborne, plaintiff is filed. He states he holds a note called a promissory note on Jacob Plough, defendant. Plough agreed to pay Willis C. Osborne on order $80.12 1/2 for value received on June 31, 1814. The debt remains unpaid therefore he requests debt and damages with costs. The document was signed by G. R. C. Sullivan on February 13, 1815. A summons and a petition are filed. The U. S. commands the Sheriff of Knox County to bring Jacob Plough before the judges of the Circuit Court March 2, next. He is to answer to a petition of Willis C. Osborne. The summons is dated February 14, 1815. Willis Osborne states he holds a promissory note on Jacob Plough for $80.12 1/2 that was due September 1, 1814 but not paid. The true copy was executed by B. V. Beckes for $1.88 1/2.
