Description:	This file contains the documents from a court case in which William Biscoe sued John Miller over a debt of $123. The documents include 1 summons, one court cost bill, and 3 receipts. The summons is for John Miller to be brought before the Court of Common Pleas to answer unto William Briscoe for an unpaid debt of $123. The summons was witnessed and signed by court clerk Robert Buntin on October 24, 1810, and executed by deputy sheriff James Crow at a cost of $4.79. The verso of the summons notes that bail is required. The court cost bill is for $11.90 1/2 cents and is from the November term 1810. The second receipt is dated November 13, 1810 and was for $70 from William Estes as part of the bond John Miller gave William Briscoe. This receipt is signed by William Briscoe, John Karr, and Solomon Vanada. The third receipt is for $5 from William Estes to William Briscoe to be credited on John Millers note of $123 dated December 25, 1809. This receipt is signed by William Briscoe, John Karr and William Estes. The last receipt states that Briscoe has sold the note to Jacob Severs and that Sheriff (James) Crow, once he collects the money, should pay Severs. The receipt to Crow is signed by William Briscoe and dated February 13, 1811. The verso notes that on February 27, 1811, Jacob Severs received full satisfaction. Severs made his mark and Bailey Anderson Sr. signed.
