This file contains documents relating to the designation of widows dower for Elizabeth Kindall, widow of the deceased William Morrison. The documents include a partition with map, a motion for partition and another motion. The partition was presented and signed by Commissioners Walter Wilson, Thomas Jordan, and Daniel Sullivan. The estate was located near the White River and the widow was to receive one equal third of the cultivated land plus the house, stables and out buildings. The motion for the partition was signed by court clerk Robert Buntin during the February 1810 term. There was also a motion by attorney General Washington Johnston, on behalf of Robert Kindall, current husband of Elizabeth, that Jesse Thomas, in right of his wife (daughter of deceased William Morrison), do pay over to Robert Kindall the balance due (the dower) on or before the March 20, 1810. This motion was executed by deputy sheriff John McCandless at a cost of $.85 1/2 cents. |
