Description: The file contains the documents related to the suit the heirs of James Hollady brought against the administrator of the estate of James Hollady, Joseph Decker Sr. in 1808. A Summons was issued for Joseph Decker, Sr. to appear in the Knox County Court of Common Pleas on December 2, 1808 to produce and exhibit accounts of the estate of James Hollady. The Summons was issued by R [Robert] Buntin, Clerk CPKC. James Crow, D. Sheriff executed the Summons with $1.70 fees charged. Walter Willson and Nancy Mills were summonsed to appear in court on the third Monday of March 1809. They were to testify on behalf of Joseph Decker in the suit brought against him by the heirs of James Holoday. The Subpoena was issued by R[Robert] Buntin, Clerk CPKC. James Crow, Dep. Sheriff executed the Subpoena and $2.34 fees were attached. A second Subpoena was issued to attach Walter Willson and Nancy Mills so that they would appear in court to give evidence on the part of Joseph Decker. The document was written by R[Robert] Buntin, Clerk and executed by James Crow, Dep. Sheriff with $2.04 fees attached. On a fourth document, Abrm [Abraham] Westfall, Henry Vanderburgh, Isaac Plough were subpoenaed to appear March 27, 1809 to give evidence on behalf of Joseph Decker . R[Robert] Buntin issued the subpoena and it was executed by John McCandless, D. Sh. Isaac Plough was not found. Another Subpoena was issued for Henry Vanderburgh, Abrm Westfall, Walter Wilson, and Isaac Plough to appear the first Thursday in May on behalf of Joseph Decker. This document was issued by R[Robert] Buntin executed by John McCandless, Isaac Plough was not found. Nancy Mills and Christopher Wyant were subpoenaed to appear the first Thurdsay in May 1809. They were to testify on behalf of Joseph Decker. Buntin issued the Subpoena it was executed by John McCandless, D.S. Nancy Mills was not found and $.61 1/2 fees were added. During the July 1809 Term, Walter Willson, Abraham Westfall, Isaac Plough and Nancy Mills were summonsed to appear on the last Monday of July on behalf of Joseph Decker. Buntin wrote the Subpoena while James Crow, D.S. executed it with $2.41 1/2 fees attached. An order to attach Nancy Mills and Jonathan Conger was issued for the first Tuesday in September for not appearing in court to give evidence for Joseph Decker. R Buntin wrote the order while it was executed by James Crow with $2.27 fees attached. Mills and Conger, and Wyant were again subpoenaed to appear in the November Term 1809. R. Buntin issued the Subpoena and it was executed by James Crow with $2.37 1/2 fees. The Minute Book of the Knox County Court of Common Pleas 1807-1810 lists the case on pgs. 109, 162, 179, 188, 204.
