John Vanderhoof and Eliza Vanderhoof vs Harvey Vanderhoof, admin. of Lewis Vanderhoof deceased 1835

Description:	The file contains the documents regarding John Vanderhoofs petition to have the assets of the estate of Lewis Vanderhoof, distributed by the administrator of his estate, Harvey Vanderhoof. It contains the petition, response of Harvey Vanderhoof to the petition, two summons for Harvey Vanderhoof, and receipts for payment of inheritances. John Vanderhoof petitioned the court to have Harvey Vanderhoof divide up the estate of Lewis Vanderhoof for himself and Eliza Vanderhoof. Harvey Vanderhoof, through his attorney, A.T. Ellis, asked that Eliza be removed from the petition, since she was an infant, and John Vanderhoof was not her guardian. This was filed in court by A.D. Scott August 11, 1835. A summons was issued for Harvey Vanderhoof to appear at the May Term 1835 by A.D. Scott, Clerk. The Sheriff, John Purcell, could not find Harvey Vanderhoof to execute the summons. A second summons was issued for Harvey Vanderhoof to appear at the August Term 1835. The Sheriff executed this summons which had $1.50 in costs attached. In June 1831, a receipt by Harvey Vanderhoff to Caroline Vanderhoof was written for one share of the Lewis Vanderhoof estate. Caroline, signed with her mark. It was witnessed by Nathaniel Kuydendall. On February 18, 1835 John Vanderhoof made a request to A.D. Scott, Clerk, to pay William Mieure $22.69 from the Lewis Vanderhoof Estate. A receipt from William Mieure was written on August 11, 1835 for receiving $23.43 from the Lewis Vanderhoof Estate for John Vanderhoff. A second receipt was written that date to William Mieure for receiving $23.43 for Eliza Vanderhoof as her guardian. Peter Snider received $22.75 in July 1835 from the estate and had already received $16.00 in 1832.
