November 8, 1800, Isaac Knight wrote a promissory note to Solomon Hays for twenty-four bushels of wheat and fifty bushels of Indian Corn for value received. The note stated that the above items would be paid before December 25 at the home of General Washington Johnson. A seventy-five dollar penalty would be made if the conditions were not met. General Johnson witnessed the note. On the verso side of the note, Recd of Jacob Miner for the use of Isaac Knight 12 bushels of corn on the within note. June 12, 1801 Wm Pique. June 13 Received 13 bushels corn . Wm Pique . I do assign the within note to Thomas Coulter. Dec 9, 1800 S. Hays. |
